Anthony's work covers a wide range of art in various media. Born and
educated in Worcester, he took top place in Art at the King's School throughout
his entire school career. He studied as a full time student at Malvern
School of Art under the late Victor Moody A.R.A starting in Commercial
Art, working in Design and Graphics doing agency work. In 1973 he switched
to painting fine porcelain as a Ceramic Artist, working on animals for
an American company.
In 1991 Anthony launched himself as a freelance artist working in oils and watercolours taking on commission work and going back to his original love of landscapes and old buildings. He is particularly interested in ecclesiastical subjects such as churches and abbeys and also old barns, cottages and other period subjects. This is where Anthony's eye for detail becomes evident. He loves local landscapes and this comes throigh in all his landscape work. His work has become very popular and much in demand. In his Mediterranean work Anthony is interested in trying to convey the
brightness of the colours, the hot sunshine and the deep shadows formed
by the subject matter, in this he has certainly succeeded.
Anthony lives in the village of Welland in Worcestershire on the Eastern side of the Malvern Hills with his wife and family and like other artisrs before him and around him he draws much of hos inspiration from this beautiful area. He paints in a traditional manner and says that he is never short of subjects. He is always pleased to take on commission work and may be contacted on 01684-310935.
