Marybrite Silks

Around 5 years ago mary was given a present in the form of a silk painting kit which she had great fun working. After attending a one day workshop she was really hooked on painting on silk material and hasn't looked back since.

Going back to school days she managed to scrape through O and A level certificates in Art....

Loretta came to Malvern eleven years ago as a visitor. She fell in love with the hills and has been viviting them ever since. Their ancient prescence gives her a sence of grounding and healing as it does to so many. She moved here permanently from London about three years ago and has no regrets.

As a youngster she attended Hornsey Art Centre for a while but turned away from Art to writing articles, studying psychology and became involved in counselling work. She put her paints away for many years. Now in such a place of splendid virtual impact her imagination and interest in drawing has come alive again. A love of colour and light is Loretta's main expression ans she tends to find pastels are a wonderful medium for creating a softness with colours that are vibrant and luminous. Pencil and other media can be mixed in for more detail and other effects. She is still practising and learning... all a new and wonderful experience and delight.

Loretta's bedroom window overlooks North Hill and Worcestershire Beacon and she thinks that Malvern is certainly the place to experience he seasons in all their beauty.
